Tops for women over 40. If you saw my Instagram post, you’ll know that I wore this top for almost 2 full hours before getting food on it, lol. But what a glorious 2 hours they were! We went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants and wow did that feel good! I felt great in this top too. Asymmetrical hem lines can really help out those of us over 50. I’ll quote my friend Lisa, from The Sequinist, who once said, “Hips don’t lie and shoulders don’t age.” And THAT’s why Asymmetrical tops are great for women in midlife! They provide a stunning, slimming affect by directing the eye to places other than our middle.
This one comes in lots of colors, has a long hidden side zip, is well made and fully lined. Mine arrived in a zipper pouch and was really wrinkled. I steamed it to within an inch of it’s life and it was perfect. It actually didn’t wrinkle much while wearing so I think it was just a lack of attention in packaging the garment for shipping.
In Colorado, people are very casual so I dressed this down a bit by styling it with my current favorite distressed jeans. This would also be so pretty with crisp, slim fitting, tapered trousers.
The neckline comes all the way to the neck, so no necklace is necessary. I decided on dainty jewelry, an arm cuff for interest, nude colored suede pumps and my little quilted chain bag.
This top was super comfortable and I felt fabulous wearing it. You KNOW you’ve hit a winner when 2 complete strangers stop you to tell you that they love your top! And thankfully……..the stain came out so it can live to see another dinner out!
I hope that you have a fabulous week. Times are hard I know. For some more than others. Let me encourage you to diligently guard your heart and mind during this difficult season. Be sure you are “putting in” more goodness than you’re “taking out”. And remember that you are not required to see, read or take part in every single thing going on in the world. Filter carefully, ladies. The world needs joy.
