For The Bad Ass Dad on Fathers Day

Shop For The Action Guy

I see a lot of Fathers Day Gift Guides, but so many of them just don’t relate to my own husband who has spent a lifetime in “Bad-Assery”, lol. Here’s the thing about shopping for the action guy: Every item he owns from his sports coat, to his beard trimmer, to his holster is seen as a “mission essential piece of “kit”. It must perform its intended function at the very highest standard each and every time………and preferably, do so under water as well. So, I thought I’d put together a Fathers Day Gift Guide for the other military, law enforcement and operator Bad Ass dads out there whose wants might look a little different! These are my top gifts for the Action guy!

Top Father Day Gifts

1. Knife here, 2. Leather weekender bag here, 3. Range bag here, 4. Monogrammed whiskey decanter here, 5. Binos here, 6. Shooting glasses here, 7. watch here, 8. Ear Pro here.

1. Neck Gaiter

Now more than ever, this neck gaiter is a functional piece in my husband’s wardrobe. He can just pull it up over nose and mouth and it works as a mask! This particular one is comfortable, stretches to fit the face, provides UPF 50 sun protection, moisture-wicking, quick drying and odor control.

2. Lightweight Jacket

A good lightweight jacket is a closet staple for the action guy and the Arcteryx Gamma jacket ticks all the boxes. This is my husband’s most reached for jacket. He’s worn it for years and it just gets better with age. Moisture and wind resistant but breathable and provides for lots of movement.

3. An Awesome Travel Bag

A really good travel bag is at the top of the list for the guy on the go. Seriously, any man alive would be thrilled with this beautiful weekender. This bag just gets better with age. We prefer the cognac color for its rich, already worn look. This is the only travel bag my husband carries.

4. A Range Bag

Speaking of bags, every badass dad needs a good, well-stocked Range Bag. My husband has literally spent tens of thousands of hours on the range and loaded and fired millions of rounds both in training and “downrange” so these bags are pretty dang important. He uses the Arcteryx Covert case because of its extreme functionality and durability. EVERYTHING from boots to first aid fits into this one bag! Another great range bag is by Grey Ghost Gear.

5. Eye Pro & 6. Ear Pro

A few key pieces inside the range bag are this Eye Protection and This ear Protection. And if the dad on your list is in the military, you’ll also want to surprise him with this speedloader, to make his life immensely easier.

7. A Good Knife

All Bad Ass dads also have a thing for knives. They collect them like I collect nail polish. I have no idea why…… they just do. And y’all- they get really excited about them. If you want to give a badass dad a TRULY great piece of apparently drool worthy steel, get this one.

8. Humidor, 9. Good Whiskey and 10. Good Cigars

Most of these guys also enjoy fine scotch, whiskey and cigars. These Humidors made from ammo cans make great gifts! And a beautiful, monogrammed whiskey decanter alongside a bottle of Blanton’s whiskey makes a super classy gift that is always well received.

A Good Scotch: MacCallhan 15 yr

A Good Bourbon: Blanton’s

A Good Cigar: Cohiba Nicaragua N60

How fun! This a more realistic gift guide than any others I’ve seen. My man is a cowboy and man sandals don’t fit anything about him. Bless the bad asses! Enjoy your blog a lot, from my ranch house in New Mexico.

Kim, Thank you so much for the sweet words. That really means a lot. And I hear ya on being married to a bad ass, lol. Love all those rough edges to pieces! I’m glad that you liked these gift ideas. Waving wildly from Colorado, in the direction of NM!
