Our Christmas in the Village
This was our first Christmas living in a tiny village on an island in the Adriatic Sea. A blanket of snow fell on the mountains on Christmas Eve. Strolling around the charming Christmas markets with hot mulled wine, the many church bells ringing, the beautiful sound of the Christmas choir rising up through the entire village, this was without a doubt one of the most peaceful Christmases I’ve ever enjoyed. I hope you love this somewhat random photo dump from our first Christmas in the village.
The Villa
I made all of our ornaments and decor this year. My favorite thing was the wreath for hanging horizontally above the dining table. The whole house felt so cozy and warm.

Family Time
Both our sons came for the holidays. We had so much fun cooking, grilling outside, going for walks by the sea, watching movies and just getting to catch up. We spoke with our daughter and son in law, who live in South Africa and we are anxious to visit with them soon. Our children are hands down, our favorite people to be with!

I hope you enjoyed a look at our Christmas in the village this year. Let me know if you have any questions or want to know more about any of the scenes here. How was your Christmas? Are you enjoying the wonderful “lull” that falls between Christmas and the New Year? It’s one of my favorite stretches of time. Since everyones inboxes have been totally overflowing, “The Weekly Best” posts will start again in January.
