I recently booked a stay in a treehouse for my husbands 50th birthday. I LOVE finding things to surprise him with and it gets more difficult all the time because he has such a sense of adventure and has already done so many things. What better thing to do for a milestone birthday, than to go live in a treehouse?! I kept it a secret until we turned down the road that leads back to the beautiful treehouse tucked away in the trees. Success! He loved it and we had such an amazing little getaway.

This particular treehouse was featured in Season 3 of The Treehouse Guys and it definitely did NOT disappoint! Not only is it absolutely lovely but every small bit of space has been so thoughtfully used. As you climb the beautifully carved, grand, outside staircase to the entrance, you can already feel such a sense of magic and curiosity pulling you inside. As we entered the house, it seriously took my breath away. It’s open and light with a beautifully eclectic decor.
Every single comfort you could possibly want has been thought of. From a flat-screen TV to complete wifi capability, a full kitchen, and a beautifully tiled full bath, there is no roughing it in this luxury treehouse.
For me, the real star of this house was in the design. The house has 2 living trees that grow up through the house and continue on up through the roof and branch out over the house.
They are unencumbered and allowed to flow freely. When the wind blows outside, the tree trunks sway gracefully within the house. I could NEVER tire of watching it. This feature makes the entire treehouse feel alive and really gives you a sense of being “in the trees”. There are 2 more trees that grow through the outside decks of the house in the same way.
The inside spiral staircase leads upstairs to the comfortable bedroom and upper deck.
The house is climate controlled and was extremely well insulated and cozy. I highly recommend sleeping in the trees if you get the chance. We slept SO well and the next morning, slipping out onto the upper deck with a cup of coffee in the peace and quiet that surrounds this treehouse was heavenly.
This Montana treehouse is minutes from the breathtaking Glacier National Park, as well as the resort town of Whitefish with loads of dining options and more outdoor activities.
Winston was a huge fan of the Montana Treehouse Retreat. (Yay! Well mannered pets are welcome!)
